A Sincere Look: Pizzeria Libretto

Nothing excites me more than visiting architectural marvels and restaurants laced with history. Hence, with raved reviews from Yelp and Trip Advisor, the Italian joint called Pizzeria Libretto was undeniably a perfect place to try.

My friend, Amanda and I started our visit with 2 orders of mimosas, buttermilk fried calamari, and kale salad which had roasted chickpeas, preserved tomatoes, and mint. The kale salad tasted fresh and healthy –  the mint sauce was too tangy for my liking – but it was everything you could hope for in a salad.

On the other hand, all it took was one bite for me to fall in love with the calamari. Every succeeding bite was sheer perfection. The calamari was crispy but soft, and its red pepper almond sauce added a nice hint of sweetness that kept me wanting more.

We also ordered a cremini mushroom pizza which was a very creamy concoction of Buffalo mozzarella, gorgonzola, roasted garlic, rosemary, thyme, and pecorino. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo as I was too infatuated with the calamari. We also ordered way too much food for two people, so we were too full by the time we got the pizza.

But not to worry, this won’t be the last you’ll hear about Pizzeria Libretto as I will definitely be coming back to reunite with my love (you know who you are) and try other dishes in the menu. But for now, thank you for reading and for letting me rant like a qualified food critique. ’til next time!
