Odin Cafe + Bar

Not only is it visually striking, but the airy space and laid back vibe of Odin Haus make this Nordic-Canadian cafe the perfect hang-out/writing spot on the east side of downtown Toronto. Unlike other coffee shops in the city, I've never felt claustrophobic in this outpost. I find the sidewalks generally quieter, there's typically seating, and all the white walls and minimalist decor simply have a way of calming my spirit. I'm also just a sucker for anything minimalist.

This past weekend, my friend, Michelle & I paid Odin Haus a visit and enjoyed some cold drinks and empanadas on their patio. Michelle opted for an iced matcha, while I got their iced mocha. Both drinks were refreshing and certainly a nice way to celebrate our Sunday afternoon.

As much as I like living in the suburbs and having room for Laska to run around, places like this honestly make me wish I lived in downtown Toronto.
